Ford Fold Flat System (FFS)
You could be a DIY enthusiast, or your daughter’s mountain bike could need picking up, or maybe you’ve been nominated as roadie for your son’s band. Whatever you and your family need to carry, S-MAX is flexible enough to cope. FFS means each rear seat folds down flush with the floor, plus the second-row seats can also slide and tilt. In total, there are an astonishing 32 possible seating combinations.

Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Ford Convers+
This intuitive digital command centre helps you stay in complete control of many of the car’s systems. Featuring a standard, enhanced or Ford Convers+ cluster display, the HMI is operated by two steering wheel-mounted toggles for audio and vehicle settings. With the left toggle you can find and change radio stations or CD tracks, as well as set the volume. The right toggle switch controls the cluster display for vehicle settings and the trip computer. On the Ford Convers+ cluster display, the right toggle lets you scroll through MultiMedia lists, controlling the phone, radio, and CD player. An optional USB/MP3/iPod® connectivity port is also available.
Touchscreen Navigation PLUS system with rear view camera and USB connectivity
The crown jewel in the centre console, this system is the ultimate in navigation, connectivity and touch-screen convenience and clarity. Being an integrated system, it responds to real-time road speed and the latest traffic conditions to deliver more accurate estimated arrival times and trip information.
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Forward Alert (FA)
With ACC you can automatically keep your chosen distance from the car in front. Should the car in front slow down and reduce the gap, your speed drops, too. And when traffic speeds up, you automatically return to cruising speed. Meanwhile, FA monitors your distance to the vehicle in front and if you drive too close, a warning noise and flashing light activate.
Adjustable Speed Limiting Device (ASLD)
This new driver assistance system is included as part of cruise control. ASLD is designed to help drivers avoid exceeding driver-selected speeds unintentionally – for example, staying within legal speed limits during long road trips. By using enhanced cruise control switches on the steering wheel, you can adjust your top speed limit, active from 19mph. Should you try to exceed that range, the engine management system intervenes to maintain your set speed limit.
Dual Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (DEATC)
What if you feel the cold, but your passenger doesn’t? You and your front passenger can set the temperature with up to 4°C variation between you. (Standard on Zetec Titanium and Titanium X Sport)
MP3 and USB connector
With S-MAX, an AUX jack is available as standard, so you can plug in your MP3 player and operate it yourself. You can also use the USB connection to plug in your MP3 player. To control the music, just operate the remote audio controls, or issue voice commands using Bluetooth® with Voice Control technology.

Impressive capacity, flexible interior
Whether you need your car for work, leisure or family trips, the versatile S-MAX has plenty to offer. The third-row seats can easily accommodate two adults, providing room for up to seven adults. Plus, the Ford FoldFlatSystem (FFS) means the second-row and third-row seats can quickly fold completely flat without having to be removed.
Dog guard system
The robust, full height dog guard system keeps dogs or items of luggage safely in the luggage compartment or within the vehicle. This can be fixed either behind the second-row seats or behind the front seats when the second-row seats have been folded down. The dog guard system meets European safety requirements and is available as an accessory.

Variable climate-controlled front seats
Individual seat comfort, controlled by the occupant, that improves driving comfort, particularly on longer distances. With a choice of five heating and ventilation levels, the seats feature built-in heating elements to provide the desired temperature while the perforated seat trim and fans inside the seats allow cool air from within the car to circulate between the seats and their occupants.

FordPower starter button
You no longer need to insert the key into the ignition to start the car. You simply push the power button while holding the clutch down (or brake pedal on an automatic) and the engine fires into life. Also available with the Ford Key-Free System: the keyless entry system that lets you lock and unlock your car without taking your key out of your pocket or bag.
Adjustable sports seating
The stylish, sculpted sports seats in the S-MAX are functional too. While your driving position is already raised, the electric seat height control lets you elevate it further. The passenger seats also have a sporty feel and have been carefully designed and positioned to give maximum flexibility, interior space and visibility, for people of all shapes and sizes. Second-row seats also feature an advanced reclining system, to help make even the longest journeys relaxing.
Both the driver and front passenger’s seat can be upgraded to the 8-way power-adjustable version with memory function for ultimate comfort. The driver’s seat also comes with lumbar support, plus a memory function that remembers up to four seat settings.
