And being an integrated system, it responds to real-time road speed and the latest traffic conditions to deliver more accurate estimated arrival times and trip information. There are also dedicated connections for your iPod® and MP3 player operated from steering wheel-mounted audio controls.
Touchscreen Navigation PLUS System

Easily updated via SD memory card, you can specify whether you prefer to take the shortest, fastest or most eco-friendly route. And being an integrated system, it responds to real-time road speed and the latest traffic conditions to deliver more accurate estimated arrival times and trip information. The PLUS system is fitted with additional speakers, and you can choose the optional Premium Sound System for a more refined sound quality from the ten speakers in the cabin. There are also dedicated connections for your iPod® and MP3 player operated from steering wheel-mounted audio controls. This system also includes a rear view camera.
LED daytime running lights
Offering increased visibility to other road users, the LED daytime running lights are typical of the attention to detail to be found throughout Mondeo. This stylish design detail is also more energy efficient than dipped headlights due to its use of the latest LED technology.
Static cornering lights
Integrated into the halogen Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS) and bi-xenon HID headlights, static cornering lights are activated when you turn the steering wheel 30°. These give more directional light for unlit blindspots, which helps you make out the road ahead more clearly and avoid any potential problems. In addition, there's enhanced side visibility during low speed manoeuvres, for example pulling out at junctions.
Halogen Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS)
With AFS, the headlights swivel to the left or right by up to 15˚ according to your speed and the angle of the steering wheel. So, as you turn the wheel, the dipped lights swivel to illuminate the road as you turn the corner. This boosts forward visibility through bends and creates a safer driving environment. (standard on Titanium X).
Bi-xenon HID headlights
Mondeo’s bi-xenon HID headlights are more than twice as powerful as conventional headlights, while using less energy. This option also includes static cornering lights and headlight washers. (Option).
LED rear lights
Lighting technology at its most eye catching. The bright and long-lasting LED lights improve visibility and add an attractive appearance at night. (Standard)
Enhanced LED interior lighting
LED technology (where specified) is also now present in the interior of the Mondeo. Included as standard on some models, this ultramodern interior lighting gives the cabin a more contemporary ambience. Plus, it's more energy efficient, can be directed more easily and is brighter than standard filament bulbs.
Emergency Brake Warning
The rear brake lights are activated and repeatedly flashed during emergency braking, giving following drivers advance warning of a potentially hazardous situation. (Standard)
Auto High Beam
Switches the headlights from high beam to low beam as soon as the system detects oncoming traffic or a pre-defined lighting level. Conversely, it detects the road is clear before automatically switching back to high beam. (included as part of the optional Driver Assistance packs).
Rear-view camera
Select reverse and the rear-view camera comes on automatically in the Touchscreen navigation PLUS system's display, allowing you to see objects behind your car for safer and easier manoeuvring. Special guidance graphics indicate the distance, width and centre line of the car, based on the steering angle. (Included within Touchscreen Navigation PLUS System).
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Forward Alert (FA)
With ACC you can automatically keep your chosen distance from the car in front. Should the car in front slow down and reduce the gap, your speed drops, too. And when traffic speeds up, you automatically return to cruising speed. Meanwhile, FA monitors your distance to the vehicle in front and if you drive too close, a warning noise and flashing light activate.
Adjustable Speed Limiter
This system integrates with cruise control, working with simplicity to keep you within your pre-determined speed limit. An ergonomically placed switch on the steering wheel lets you adjust your top speed limit and provides peace of mind you will not exceed this – particularly useful when travelling in speed camera areas. The system can be deliberately deactivated by cancelling the function or sharply depressing the accelerator pedal should the need arise.
Blind Spot Information System
This clever visual alert is designed to make long journeys a more relaxing experience. As another vehicle enters the blind spot area on either side of your Mondeo, the radar system alerts you with a discreet warning lamp in the corresponding door mirror. (Option)
Lane Departure Warning
Using an ingenious forward-facing camera this tactile and visual alert triggers when the driver changes lanes without indicating. Three short vibrations are sent through the steering wheel, while a warning light is displayed in the instrument cluster. (Option as part of Driver Assistance Packs).
Driver Alert
Continuously analyses the driver's level of vigilance by assessing direction of travel and vehicle behaviour. When the system calculates the driver's attention falls below a certain level, it will display a 'take a break' message in the instrument cluster. If it detects a more sudden loss of attention, such as drifting across a lane, a warning chime and additional visual alerts warn the driver (Option as part of Driver Assistance Packs).
Rain-sensing wipers
With six levels of sensitivity, autowipers on the Mondeo spring into action at the first drop of rain, increasing in speed to deal with whatever the weather may throw at you. Aside from the added convenience, it’s one less thing to think about.
Auto headlights
The lighting technology in Mondeo has been designed to make night-time driving easier, safer and more comfortable. Where specified, the headlights automatically turn on when the sensors detect a reduction in light conditions (including when the rain-sensing wipers are in use), which means you won’t need to turn them on at dusk, at night, or when you are going through a tunnel.
Park Assist
There are front and rear sensors that make parking and manoeuvring both safer and easier. An audible warning helps you judge the distance between your car and any obstacle behind or in front of you, so you have complete confidence and peace of mind, particularly in tight spaces. (Option; Standard on Titanium X).
Hill Start Assist (HSA)
HSA prevents you from rolling backwards when making a hill start. After releasing the brake pedal when stationary, the technology keeps the wheels braked, assisting the driver to move away safely.
Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Ford Convers+
This intuitive digital command centre is standard on all Mondeo models and now upgraded to make it even easier for you to stay in complete control of many of the car’s systems. You can choose from a standard, enhanced or Ford Convers+ cluster display, all now featuring enhanced graphics for improved clarity and more of a cockpit feel.
The HMI is operated by two steering wheel-mounted toggles for audio and vehicle settings. With the left toggle you can find and change radio stations or CD tracks, as well as set the volume. The right toggle switch controls the cluster display for vehicle settings and the trip computer. On the Ford Convers+ cluster display, the right toggle lets you scroll through MultiMedia lists, controlling the phone, radio, and CD player. There's also built-in connectivity available for your iPod®, MP3 player or USB stick (standard on Sony DAB audio and with Satellite navigation). so you can control your player via the car’s audio system, with the playlist shown in the Convers+ display (where specified).
Ford Easy Fuel
People often mistakenly add diesel to their petrol tank or vice versa, which usually results in costly repairs. Ford Easy Fuel is a capless refuelling system with a clever mis-fuelling inhibitor that can tell the difference between the fuel pump nozzles used for petrol and diesel. So you’ll never put the wrong fuel in.
Quickclear heated windscreen – standard on all Mondeo
At the touch of a button, heating elements within the windscreen activate immediately to quickly and conveniently clear it of ice and mist.
Power Child Locks – standard on Mondeo
This innovative feature improves safety for the whole family. At the click of a button, you can safely secure your precious backseat passengers by preventing them from opening doors and windows from the inside.
Home Safe Lighting
The headlights and puddle lights stay on for a few extra seconds as you walk away from your car. A convenient feature that should help you see your way safely to your door at night.
FordPower starter button
You no longer need to insert the key into the ignition to start the car. You simply push the power button while holding the clutch down (or brake pedal on an automatic) and the engine fires into life. Also available with the Ford Key-Free System: the keyless entry system that lets you lock and unlock your car without taking your key out of your pocket or bag.
FordKeyFree-System
The FordKeyFree-System is a keyless entry system that lets you lock and unlock your car, without taking your key out of your pocket or bag. Sensors around the car detect the presence of the ‘passive key’ and activate the locking mechanism accordingly.

Air quality sensor
When external air pollution is detected, the sensor automatically switches the air conditioning to recirculation mode, and switches back when air quality improves.
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Forward Alert (FA)
With ACC you can automatically keep your chosen distance from the car in front. Should the car in front slow down and reduce the gap, your speed drops, too.
