Distinctive presence
With its understated beauty, the Mondeo is at home whether it’s outside a sophisticated town house or in the lane of a country cottage. Its dynamic, muscular yet elegant profile is shaped by Ford kinetic Design. This gives the vehicle the impression that it is moving even when stationary. Both driver and passengers can enjoy the quiet satisfaction of travelling in style.
Halogen Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS)
With AFS, the headlights swivel to the left or right by up to 15° according to your speed and the angle of the steering wheel. So, as you turn the wheel, the dipped lights swivel to illuminate the road as you take the corner. This boosts forward visibility through bends and creates a safer driving environment. Integrated static cornering lights are activated when you turn the steering wheel 30°. These give even more light on sharper bends, to help you avoid any potential problems around the next corner.
Bi-Xenon headlights with AFS
If you do a lot of driving at night, or in poor weather, these headlights are ideal, generating an extremely bright light but consuming less energy and with a longer service life than conventional halogen bulbs. They also light up a longer and wider angle than standard halogen bulbs.

A high-performance diesel engine, the 2.2-litre Duratorq TDCi, is now available on Zetec*,Ghia and Titanium
The 175 PS 2.2-litre Duratorq TDCi is the most powerful diesel engine available in our cars. It gives a sustained 400 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm to 2,750 rpm, and 420 Nm of what’s known as transient overboost, for several seconds to enable supreme confidence in overtaking manoeuvres. Maximum power of 175 PS is delivered at just 3,500 rpm.

The engine has been specially calibrated to deliver performance, as well as a quiet and smooth drive.
Flexifuel delivers lower carbon footprint
As part of our commitment to delivering significant reductions in CO2 output, we have developed Flexifuel engines. They run on a blend of 85% bio-ethanol, sourced from wood residues, sugar beet, wheat or crop waste, and 15% unleaded petrol. This blend is called bioethanol E85, and it delivers a substantially lower carbon footprint than conventional petrol engines, but without compromising performance.

The Flexifuel engine can also run on petrol, giving you a practical alternative if it’s not possible to fill up with bioethanol E85.
