Diesel engines
Coated diesel particulate filter (C-DPF)
A number of our diesel engines have been designed with a C-DPF, including the 2.0-litre Duratorq (140 PS) and that range-topping 2.2-litre Duratorq. They’re calibrated for smooth, efficient performance and are Euro IV compliant.

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Forward Alert(FA)
With ACC you can automatically keep your chosen distance from the car in front. Should the car in front slow down and reduce the gap, your speed drops, too. And when traffic speeds up, you automatically return to cruising speed. Meanwhile, FA monitors your distance to the vehicle in front. If you drive too close, a warning noise and flashing light activate.
Automatic transmission
Some people don’t want to compromise on an involving drive, but prefer the convenience of automatic transmission. The 2.3-litre Duratec HE 161 PS 4-cylinder petrol engine is available, with an advanced Durashift six-speed automatic transmission which includes a ‘Sportsmode’, and also allows you to adjust your individual driving style by changing to manual mode for more involved driving.
Precision drive
Utilising the latest innovations in driving technology, the Mondeo provides a refined driving experience for people who enjoy the journey. This clever system combines Interactive Vehicle Dynamic Control (IVDC) with Continuous Controlled Damping (CCD), guaranteeing stability and efficient braking along with fluid and responsive handling. Each damper is adjusted five times per second for a smoother, more comfortable ride. You can also select different suspension settings from a range of ‘sport’, ‘normal’ and ‘comfort’ modes to suit your individual driving style.
