Engines and technology
The Focus Coupé-Cabriolet is every bit as rewarding to drive as the Focus saloon. Impressive road-holding coupled with light, high-performance engines ensure that its looks are matched by its performance.

Because this is an overview of the Ford Focus Coupé-Cabriolet, some features mentioned below may be standard across the range whilst others may be optional extras or available only on selected models. Please refer to the full Features and specifications for specific details or contact your Ford Dealer . You can also use our configurator tool to build your perfect Ford Focus Coupé-Cabriolet.

Power and control
We have produced a range of alloy engines that are lighter and more responsive. So as well as producing more power, they also produce less CO2. The 1.6-litre Duratec (100 PS) petrol engine comes with a five-speed manual transmission, while the 2-litre Duratec (145 PS) petrol engine comes with either a five-speed manual transmission, or four-speed automatic transmission. If you prefer diesel, there’s the 2-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel engine (136 PS) that comes with a six-speed transmission.
Handling
The Focus Coupé-Cabriolet has incredible driving dynamics. This is due to its responsive steering, wide axles and low centre of gravity – together with the same Control Blade independent rear suspension as on other Focus models. The end result is a thoroughly invigorating drive.

Electric Hydraulic Power-Assisted Steering (EHPAS)
The Focus Coupé-Cabriolet has extremely responsive handling. This speed-sensitive system ensures that the steering becomes lighter at lower speeds for easier manoeuvrability. At higher speeds, you will find there is less power assistance, which means you can better ‘feel’ the road, particularly when you are cruising along winding roads. You can switch the setting between Standard, Comfort and Sport depending on how you feel like driving.
Control Blade independent rear suspension
This clever system, available as standard, absorbs both horizontal and vertical rear-wheel movement. This means it deals effortlessly with poor road surfaces, including hazardous potholes. It also provides passive rear-wheel steering for increased cornering stability, ideal whether you’re following a winding coastal road or negotiating mini roundabouts. It’s also been proven that Control Blade independent rear suspension is more effective at cushioning impacts than traditional torsion beam suspension.
Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), Traction Assist (TA) and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA)
The Electronic Stability Programme with Traction Assist helps combat problems that may occur during sudden manoeuvres, helping you to maintain full control of the vehicle. It reacts automatically if needed, by reducing power or applying a braking force to any wheel that is losing grip. Emergency Brake Assist is also there to ensure full braking force is available whenever necessary, helping reduce stopping distances in an emergency.
