With AFS, the headlights swivel to the left or right according to your speed and the angle of the steering wheel. So as you turn the wheel, the lights adjust to illuminate the road as you take the corner. This boosts forward visibility through bends and creates a safer driving environment.

Halogen Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS)
Auto-headlights
The lighting technology in the C-MAX has been designed to make night-time driving easier, safer and more comfortable. The headlights automatically turn on when the sensors detect a reduction in light conditions, so you won’t need to turn them on at dusk, at night, or when going through a tunnel.
Navigation
Two navigation systems are available with the C-MAX: an advanced navigation system with 5” colour screen and a DVD Touchscreen navigation system.
The advanced system features a 5'' full-colour display with map and turn-by-turn instructions to your destination, as well as the option to play MP3 files directly from your memory card for enhanced sound quality. The system also includes an external AUX jack, SD memory card slot for data exchange and map data, remote audio controls and six speakers.
Choose the DVD Touchscreen Navigation option, and you will have a 7" full-colour touch-screen display and easy-to-follow visual with spoken instructions. The system also includes Bluetooth®* USB, a CD/MP3 audio system, climate controls, remote audio controls, an external AUX jack and eight premium speakers.
Sony DAB audio system
Standard on the C-MAX, you get a DAB digital radio, with its wide choice of radio stations. There’s also MP3 playback capability, external AUX jack and an optional USB port for plugging in your MP3 player. If you prefer, you can choose a single CD player or upgrade to a high-performance Sony audio system with a 6-disc in-dash CD autochanger.
Bluetooth® with Voice Control
USB featuring Bluetooth® with Voice Control connectivity allows complete access to your music via the main control unit using voice commands, or the remote control toggles on the steering wheel. A USB/audio socket, means you can plug in and play your own personal MP3 device or USB stick. And Bluetooth® technology also gives you control of your mobile phone for incoming, outgoing and missed calls, plus compatibility with your phone’s own hands-free kit. MP3 and USB connector
An audio input connection is available as standard across the range for you to plug in your MP3 player. You can then listen to your favourite tracks through the car audio system.
Go for the USB connection, available with Bluetooth®* with Voice Control, to plug in your USB device, and see your favourite tracks appear on the car’s dashboard display. To control the music, just operate the remote audio controls, or issue voice commands using Bluetooth®* with Voice Control technology.

Electric Hydraulic Power-Assisted Steering (EHPAS)
The C-MAX has more responsive handling than ever. This speed-sensitive system ensures that the steering becomes lighter at lower speeds for easier manoeuvrability. While at higher speeds there is less power assistance, so you can better ‘feel’ the road, particularly when you are cruising along winding roads.
Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) with Traction Assist (TA)
The C-MAX has an advanced braking system to provide total reassurance, whatever the conditions. Fitted as standard, the ESP with TA helps combat problems that may occur during sudden manoeuvres, helping you to maintain full control of the vehicle. It reacts automatically, if needed, by reducing power or applying a braking force to any wheel that is losing grip.
Ford PowerShift
Our Ford PowerShift transmission is an advanced automatic dual-clutch gearbox, which is available with the 2.0-litre diesel engine. It cleverly combines the benefits of an automatic gearbox with those of a manual, so you can shift gears smoothly without interrupting the drive of the engine.
Intelligent Protection System (IPS)
The C-MAX features IPS that uses innovative sensors to activate the appropriate safety systems, such as all-round airbags, in a split-second. Whether one or five people are travelling, IPS means your journey will now be safer than ever before.
Superb body strength, combined with lightweight impact technology, makes the C-MAX a reassuringly safe drive. Every model has full-size airbags for the driver and front passenger, plus side airbags and side curtain airbags, so no matter where an impact may come from, you have the best protection.

When Euro NCAP rigorously tested the C-MAX, four stars were awarded both for adult and for child protection.

When you find a car that you love to drive, you want to know that your C-MAX will remain safe and secure wherever you park it. That’s why we have incorporated security features such as the perimeter alarm and locks that are high-security, anti-burst and shielded with strengthened mountings.
For extra peace of mind, there’s our patented PATS immobiliser. PATS disables the engine if your key isn’t in the ignition.
